Tea Tree Oil

Featured Product: <br>Tea Tree Oil

One of the great things about natural health is that you can easily find products that have multiple uses to improve your health. Such is the case with tea tree oil. This versatile essential oil is the first one that appeared in my house several years ago when my family started using oils. And I'm sure it is one that we will always have on our shelf.

Tea tree oil comes from the leaves of the tea tree grown in Australia. It has been used for centuries for its healing and disinfecting properties. During World War II, tea tree oil became standard issue in first-aid kits for Australian soldiers and sailors for treatment of tropical infections, wounds, lice, trench foot and much more.

Top 5 Uses for Tea Tree Oil

  1. Acne Treatment — Dab a drop of tea tree oil on a damp cotton ball or q-tip and apply to trouble spots. Make sure you dampen your applicator with water; do not use the tea tree oil alone, as it would be too potent on your delicate skin.
  2. Nail Infections — Apply undiluted tea tree oil twice daily to affected areas like nails to relieve symptoms, and possibly completely heal these unsightly ailments.
  3. Topical Antiseptic to Treat Wounds — After thoroughly cleaning with soap and water, mix one drop of tea tree oil with one teaspoon of coconut oil. Apply to injury, cover with a bandage and repeat twice daily.
  4. Natural Mouthwash — Tea tree oil may fight germs that cause tooth decay and bad breath. Add a drop of tea tree oil to a cup of warm water, mix thoroughly and swish in your mouth for 30 seconds or so.
  5. All Purpose Cleaner — Make your own natural cleaner to sanitize surfaces around your house. Combine 20 drops of tea tree oil, 3/4 cup of water and a 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle.

The list could go on and on because there are just that many uses for this awesome essential oil.
