Patchouli is a bushy herb of the mint family, native to tropical regions of Asia. It grows well in hot weather but not in sunlight. The Leaves are harvested several times a year and often distilled immediately. Our patchouli is distilled using an iron vessel and grown in Indonesia.

Patchouli has long been used in skin care for its ability to help with issues such as chapped or cracked skin. It is often found in anti-aging skin creams due to its ability to lessen the look of some scars. It is also popularly used to relieve tension and anxiety. Some cultures use the leaves to make an herbal tea, and others eat the plant as a vegetable.

    100% Pure, Sandalwood Essential Oil

The santalum album is a parasitic tree that grows natively in India, where it is prized for its use in spiritual and natural healing. Over-harvesting has pushed Sandalwood into endangered status in India, where crime rings commit atrocities to cut government-owned trees before their full maturity. Our sandalwood is steam-distilled from ethically sourced wood.

    Common Uses:
Sandalwood essential oil is great for all types of skin and is commonly used to improve meditation. Apply topically in a 5% dilution.

    Aromatic Scent:
Sandalwood East Indian Essential Oil has a rich, balsamic, sweet fragrance with delicate wood notes that add to it's reputation as a luxurious and exquisite oil.

    History:
The documented use of Sandalwood goes back 4000 years to India, Egypt, Greece and Rome. Many temples and structures were built from Sandalwood and the Egyptians used it in embalming. This practice has steadily decreased to the point where Sandalwood East Indian is now only being used for the distillation of oil. The largest reason for this is the over-harvesting of the tree coupled with the 30 year period required for the regeneration. As with all of our oils, we acquire our oils ethically, in this case it is through State sponsored auctions in the Mysore Region of India.

    Cautions:
Sandalwood East Indian Essential Oil is considered non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitizing oil.

    Potent skin strength

Usage Methods: Diffuse, apply topically, add sparingly to sinus cavity rinse for increased strength

    Research & Fun Facts

    • We wanted to call this blend MRSA-cide, but due to obvious FDA restrictions, it is called Strength.
    • MRSA, Methicillin-Resistant Staphlyococcus Aureus, is a severe threat in the modern medical community due to its resistance to common antibiotic regimens.
    • MRSA is sometimes called a "superbug," and was caused through the natural genetic mutation of bacteria. The prolonged use of antibiotics caused bacteria to mutate; bacteria that were resistant to the antibiotics lived and propagated, creating a new "superbug." Resistances can be formed against ingredients in antibacterial handsoaps as well. Many antibiotics and antibacterial ingredients that were once effective are now much less useful due to this phenomenon.
    • Some people carry active strains of MRSA in their sinuses, dramatically increasing their risk of contracting MRSA after even simple surgical procedures
    • This blend is powerful, and may irritate skin due to high concentrations of lemongrass, thyme, and cinnamon.
